Washington, DC — U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) today congratulated the Northern State University Marching Wolves for their selection by the Presidential Inaugural Parade Committee to participate in the 2013 Inaugural Parade. The parade will take place in Washington, D.C. on January 21.
“I would like to extend my congratulations to the NSU Marching Wolves on their selection to take part in the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade—being chosen to participate is a real honor,” said Johnson. “They were also part of the 2005 inaugural parade and I look forward to seeing them perform in Washington, D.C. again this year.”
The NSU Marching Wolves have 71 years of distinguished excellence participating in everything from all home football games, to NSU’s annual Gypsy Days, and even performing at several professional football games. They are currently under the direction of Dr. Boyd Perkins with assistants Dr. Grant Manhart, Jessica Perkins, professor of percussion Dr. Terry Beckler, Professor or woodwinds Fred Hemke, and Professor of clarinet Dr. Alan LaFave.
