Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) announced today that Presentation College in Aberdeen will receive a $17,531 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The funding will be used to provide scholarships to disadvantaged students to give them the opportunity to continue their education within the healthcare field.
“I am pleased that this funding is going to help students receive a quality education in the healthcare field,” Johnson said. “There is always a need in rural states like South Dakota for more healthcare professionals and I am pleased these scholarships will allow students to have the opportunity to continue their education.”
The funding comes from the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students program within the Department of Health and Human Services. The program provides scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need to enroll in health professions and nursing programs.
