Johnson with Anne Gabrys of Clear Lake.
Washington, DC—U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) today announced Anne Gabrys of Clear Lake, South Dakota has recently completed her internship in his Washington, DC office. Gabrys is the daughter of Greg and Mary Gabrys of Clear Lake. A graduate of Deuel High School, Gabrys is a junior majoring in Political Science at the College of St. Catherine in Minnesota.
“Internships allow students to gain valuable skills while learning more about the legislative and political process,” said Johnson. “I am pleased that Anne has been able to join us during her winter term, and I know that she made the most of her time in our nation’s capitol.”
“I have always admired Senator Johnson’s work and I appreciated the chance to intern in his Washington office,” said Gabrys. “This opportunity allowed me to gain valuable experience during this exciting time in our country’s history.”
The Washington, DC internship program matches interns' interests to South Dakota and federal issues while providing a first-hand opportunity to experience a wide-range of office duties. Interns may attend hearings, research issues for projects, and work with the office administrative staff.
