The Senate will convene at 2:00 p.m. and proceed to a period of morning business until 3:00 p.m. with Senators permitted to speak for up to ten minutes each. Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of H.R.3590, with Senator Reid, or designee, permitted to offer the first amendment to the Reid substitute; further, that Senator McConnell, or designee, be permitted to offer the next amendment to the substitute with no other amendments in order during Monday's session. There will be no roll call votes during Monday's session.

Final Interior Appropriations Bill to Pass the Senate
Includes Continuing Resolution to Fund Federal Government

Washington, DC – As the Senate prepares to pass the finalized version of the Interior funding bill for fiscal year (FY) 2010, U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD), a member of the Interior Appropriations Conference Committee, was proud to announce the $6.7 million in South Dakota priorities he was able to fund as part of the final bill.
This conference report also contains a continuing resolution (CR) that will allow continued government operations through December 18, 2009.
“We’re moving this bill along to the President swiftly. This bill includes funding for important national priorities like the U.S. Forest Service and the Indian Health Service, while also providing money for vital South Dakota projects like wastewater improvements and prairie management. Additionally, the bill includes the CR, which will keep the government funded through December 18, 2009 as we finish the appropriations process,” said Johnson.
Johnson-Secured Funding for South Dakota Projects Includes:
-City of Elk Point Water and Wastewater Improvements - $400,000
-Black Hills National Forest LWCF – Lady “C” Ranch - $1.64 million
-U.S. Forest Service/Northern Great Plains Interagency Dispatch Center - $1.9 million
-Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Prairie Management Program - $500,000
-City of Lead Water and Wastewater Improvements - $400,000
-Brant Lake Sanitary District Water and Wastewater Improvements - $400,000
-U.S. FWS Dakota Tallgrass conservation easements - $1 million
-State Theater Sioux Fall, South Dakota - $200,000
-Rapid City Source Water Protection Initiative - $300,000
National Programs Include:
-National Park Service Operations - $2.20 billion
-Department of Interior and U.S. Forest Service hazardous fuels reduction projects - $556.5 million.
-The Bureau of Indian Affairs Program Operations - $2.6 billion
-The Bureau of Indian Affairs Construction Funding - $225 million
-Indian Health Service - $4.1 billion
-Indian Health Facilities - $394 million
