HEALTH CARE: REAL STORIES FROM SOUTH DAKOTANS

I live with Anxiety and Depression and I need to drive an hour to see my psychiatrist for an appointment and my prescription for my medication.

There is a lack of both medical physicians and psychiatrists within my community and other rural communities in NE South Dakota. It is imperative that there is access to medical care close to your community.  If a person does not have access to psychiatrists and their medication, they are more likely to have a relapse in their illness and their symptoms can cause major problems in their daily life.

Please advocate for more psychiatrists or tele-medicine for persons with mental illness living in the State of South Dakota. Thank you for your time.
